gi Perspective have been providing mapping and GIS solutions to the European Commission for over 20 years, working with many different departments including Joint Research Commission, Eurostat, DG COMM, DG MARE, Council of Europe, Publications Office and European Parliament. giPerspective work direct with the Commission and through consortia arrangements in providing specific contract work and operating under framework agreements. We are also very proud to produce and maintain the official maps of the European Union for all units and affiliated agencies.
European Commission projects
We are currently contracted to maintain an online interactive web mapping portal for the EC EMODnet Human Activities programme. We also process geographic data to support the provision of cartographic and layout design services for a range of printed atlases.
From improving driving conditions on European roads, to regional aid for economically deprived regions, there is a need to collect, manage and store vast quantities of information to provide better understanding of issues affecting resource planning and policymaking. This is a natural area for digital mapping techniques and Geographic Information Systems, which enables multiple disparate databases to be integrated and queried based on their locational characteristics.
