Requirement
We were part of a consortium of companies (with ESRI BeLux, Atos Origin and Leuven University) awarded a Framework Contract to provide GIS database design services to the European Commission between 2004 and 2009. There were a number of projects in which work programmes and tasks were divided according to the strengths of each partner.
Solution
We managed activities as part of the consortium carrying out the annual update of an EC internal GIS statistical database entitled GISCO.
Result
The maintenance and development activities involved liaison with EC experts to implement specified tasks including database design using UML models, database implementation, geoprocessing, quality control procedure design, quality control processing & reporting and the import and versioning of datasets in ArcSDE.
