Requirement
Funded by the National Transport Authority, South Dublin County Council is committed to delivering walking and cycling schemes throughout the region to promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. SDCC approached gi Perspective with a requirement for an Active Travel map solution to promote the use of established and planned cycling and walking routes.
Solution
We were able to propose SDCC adopt our Active Travel Map, gi Perspective’s hosted and supported interactive online walking and cycling map product. Our staff worked with SDCC Officers throughout the process to understand the council-held data.
The Cycle and Walking paths are presented as both Existing and Proposed Routes, with the Proposed Routes also filterable by status of construction and completion. Map layers are interactive, allowing the user to find information such as the length of routes and number of bike stands.
Result
The online interactive Active Travel Map is now available on the Council website at Routes – SDCC. gi Perspective support the product for updates and maintenance through an annual Support Agreement.
